Parkinson's Treatment: Auriculotherapy and Therapeutic Principle

The treatment for Parkinson’s offered by the Neuro-Regenerative Medicine Center offers a solution based on Auriculotherapy (a branch of acupuncture), which is successfully applied in the treatment of Parkinson’s, neurological diseases, and other illnesses.

Through titanium micro-implants—painless and imperceptible—applied to the ear cartilage, the therapy has allowed numerous patients worldwide to improve their health condition in serious diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), and other neurological disorders.

The starting point of our technique is the auricular pavilion (the external ear), which is connected to the central nervous system through a multitude of nerve endings; therefore, we refer to it as Auricular Implantology or Auriculotherapy.

Our treatment for Parkinson’s, achieves a neural stimulus, naturally and lifelong, which is immediately transmitted to the brain, leading to its therapeutic effect.

The micro-implants used, as a central part of the treatment, consist of minuscule needles made of titanium. This is a completely biocompatible material used in other medical implants, such as dental implants.

The permanent needle or Auriculotherapy method was discovered in 2001 by doctor and researcher Dr. med. Ulrich Werth, researcher. Subsequently, the alternative treatment method for Parkinson’s has been refined, the spectrum of implantation points has been expanded based on symptoms, and most importantly, only medicinal titanium needles with an adequate surface are used.

How does Parkinson’s disease work?

Cells in the substantia nigra produce a neurotransmitter called dopamine, responsible for controlling mobility. In the case of Parkinson’s disease, alterations in the function of the substantia nigra increase muscular rigidity, decrease mobility and flexibility, and produce tremor, in addition to balance and stability disorders and other symptoms.

Benefits of Alternative Therapy for Parkinson’s

Our treatment for Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases provide a beneficial effect on certain alterations caused by numerous neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, or Restless Legs Syndrome.

With our treatment for Parkinson’s, based on Permanent Auricular Implantology, a considerable reduction of symptoms is achieved in many cases: decrease in tremor, muscular rigidity and strengthening of the paraspinal muscles—facilitating a more physiological body posture and improved balance—as well as relief from anxiety and other alterations that accompany these disorders.

This fact, in most cases, also implies a reduction in the medication dosage linked to the treatment of the disease.

It is important to note that, with our treatment, the progression of the disease can be stopped or slowed down, thereby significantly improving the well-being of the affected individual (and their family/loved ones), often restoring the patient’s autonomy.
